My Adulting Wake-Up Call

I didn’t have a partner to remind me to rest. No one to notice when I skipped meals or ran on fumes. No one to say, “You’ve been quiet lately-are you okay?”

Being sovereign meant I had to be the one who noticed.

The one who paused.

The one who cared.

I used to think adulting was about managing bills, work, and responsibilities. but the real wake-up call came when I realized: Health is the deepest form of adulting. And no one was coming to do it for me.

That’s when I chose to be “selfish”. Not in a reckless way-but in a structured, intentional way. I began designing my health like I design systems:with clarity, boundaries, and purpose.

Now, I don’t wait for crisis. I build routines. I track patterns. I ask for support. And I coach others to do the same-because being single doesn’t mean being unsupported. It means choosing your support wisely.
